# Use AI where it improves the production task

Choose coding, image, video, 3D and audio assistance by repeatability, correction effort, total cost and applicable terms.

*Start with the asset you need, then judge the workflow by the result you can accept. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Choose an AI tool for a specific production task. Generating a concept image, correcting a background, suggesting code and creating a character mesh are different jobs. An attractive demo shows what might be possible. A dependable asset pipeline must also let you correct, integrate and repeat the result.

The model directory offers editorial rankings for non-explicit production uses, with content eligibility assessed separately. It covers major model families, meaningful versions and legacy baselines. Use those rankings to make a shortlist: the directory cannot include every community checkpoint, and its tiers do not amount to a measured quality leaderboard.

## Define the deliverable and baseline

![Three connected cards labeled Asset brief, Baseline and Deliverable; Baseline is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-1-1.svg)

*Set acceptance criteria before comparing an AI attempt with your conventional workflow. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Write down what an acceptable asset must do before trying tools. A dialogue sprite needs stable identity, transparent edges and a fixed anchor. A short clip needs coherent motion and an endpoint you can use. A 3D asset needs topology, UVs, materials and predictable runtime behavior.

Make or estimate the same deliverable using your conventional workflow, then compare the whole job: inputs, attempts, selection, correction, integration and approval. Record failed attempts too. The discarded generations still cost time or money, even when only the successful one makes it into the game.

## Check eligibility before making dependencies

![Three connected cards labeled Access, Rights and Eligibility; Eligibility is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-2-1.svg)

*Access and usable rights are separate checks; confirm both before relying on a tool. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Check the exact model version, weight license, provider terms and content policy before building the project around a tool. Running a model locally does not grant unrestricted use. Rights to operate weights commercially, fine-tune them and use their outputs commercially can come with different conditions.

For community adapters, check the base model and every upstream component. For hosted tools, check the service that will actually receive your inputs, as well as the underlying model. Treat missing policy information as unverified, and resolve it before the pipeline becomes a dependency.

## Use coding assistance with small reviewable changes

![Three connected cards labeled Small change, Review and Test; Small change is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-3-1.svg)

*Keep the change small enough that review and behavior checks remain practical. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Codex or Copilot can help with ordinary engineering, documentation and tests. Give the assistant a clear defect or a feature small enough to review, along with the relevant project context. Review the resulting change and run checks tied to the behavior it affects.

Generated code still needs to earn your trust. Verify save migration, state transitions, file paths and third-party API behavior explicitly. Avoid sending unnecessary private assets or credentials to a coding service, and configure its data handling for your project’s actual requirements.

## Plan image, video and 3D as different pipelines

![Three connected cards labeled Image, Video and 3D asset; Video is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-4-1.svg)

*Test images for identity, videos for coherent motion and 3D assets for mesh quality. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

For images, test character identity and your ability to make controlled revisions across a small expression set. For video, start from an approved image and judge the complete clip, including its first and last frames. For 3D, budget for a mesh acceptance pass before a generated surface becomes a game asset.

Choose a simpler output when it serves the game. A still image with authored motion may be more maintainable than a generated cinematic. A manually modeled prop can be cheaper than correcting an unsuitable mesh. Let the actual asset requirements settle the choice; movement and detail have to justify their upkeep.

## Record a reproducible run

![Three connected cards labeled Configuration, Inputs and Run record; Run record is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-5-1.svg)

*A seed belongs in the run record alongside the model, inputs and generation settings. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Record the model identifier and hash where available, workflow version, input rights, adapter weights, generation settings and the output you selected. Include the seed, but do not expect it to preserve results on its own: software or model changes can still alter the result.

Pin important dependencies and keep a conventional route for corrections. Review custom nodes and downloaded model files as third-party software or data. Keep editable files as well as compressed final exports, so a later revision does not leave you starting from scratch.

## Measure the accepted result

![Three connected cards labeled Candidate, Corrections and Accepted asset; Candidate is highlighted.](https://bestadultgames.io/images/developer-guides/ai-tool-selection-section-6-1.svg)

*Judge the accepted asset after integration, and count the work needed to get it there. Best Adult Games · original diagram*

Evaluate each candidate against the same fixed, small asset set. Record pass rate, correction effort, total spend, repeatability and behavior after integration. Use the same reference and reviewer criteria for each candidate. If you bring vendor rankings into your benchmark, explain the workload behind them.

Choose the tool that repeatedly produces acceptable assets under your project’s conditions. Keep source-based editorial tiers separate from measured results. Call a recommendation tested only after the workflow has been run and the report records versions, settings, hardware and failures. The best-looking sample cannot do that accounting for you.

## Key decisions

- Define an acceptable asset and a conventional baseline before choosing a tool.
- Check weights, adapters, inputs and hosting terms separately.
- Include correction work and rejected attempts in the production cost.
- Keep editorial tiers separate from measured benchmark results.
