# Luma Genie 1.0 discontinued

Recovering old Genie assets and spotting outdated text-to-3D tutorials

Luma Genie 1.0 is retired and cannot supply new assets for your production. Luma says it shut down on January 1, 2026, while existing content can still be exported. If you are following an old text-to-3D tutorial, choose an active service before building a workflow around it. If you already used Genie, try to recover your models and keep the terms that governed their creation alongside them. Account access and exports have not been tested. Luma's capture tools and Dream Machine are separate products; their availability or subscription plans do not revive Genie.

## Commercial use & license

Keep the terms that governed each existing output. Current Luma subscriptions do not establish rights to historical Genie assets or access to the retired generator.

## Adult content rules

Luma's May 14, 2026 terms prohibit generating pornographic or sexually explicit content. The terms governing historical Genie outputs remain unverified; the shutdown notice grants no new adult-use permission.

## What you need

Access to the original account and its saved content. Luma says exports remain available, but account access and recovery have not been tested.
