# Stable Diffusion 1.5

Maintaining established low-resolution workflows and older adapters.

Stable Diffusion 1.5 is useful for maintaining an established art workflow built around older checkpoints and LoRAs. Developers still encounter both on Civitai, and the model has a substantial body of conditioning resources and training examples. Its B tier reflects reuse of an approved process and limited experiments; a new art pipeline needs to account for its resolution and detail limits. Check adapter compatibility before loading anything: the safetensors format does not make SDXL or FLUX LoRAs compatible with SD1.5. Review the preservation repository’s provenance notes, original RAIL terms, derivative licenses and the rules of the host you actually use.

## What you need

A compatible GPU runtime, the required model components and storage. Measure memory use in your chosen workflow.

## Tradeoffs to plan for

- Lower-resolution origins and limited handling of complex prompts.
- Preserved weights are distributed separately from the original provider.
- SDXL and FLUX LoRAs are incompatible with SD1.5.
