Unique3D turns one reference image into a textured mesh through generated views and surface reconstruction. Its appeal is a simple input and a downloadable pipeline you can inspect alongside your existing tools. The documentation favors front-facing images in a rest pose with few occlusions, making controlled character references a useful starting point for comparison. Check the reconstructed back, thin parts and painted details after import, then judge how much correction the asset needs. Materials, rigging and animation readiness remain untested; published examples and timings have not been reproduced here. The licensing caveat is concrete: its nvdiffrast dependency restricts users outside NVIDIA and its affiliates to non-commercial research or evaluation under the published license.

## What you need

NVIDIA GPU with CUDA, the documented Python/PyTorch environment, compiled extensions and checkpoints. The guides specify different Python/CUDA versions, and the configured Lambda Labs normal-model repository lists no weights. Installation and a hardware minimum were not independently validated.
