Best Adult Games · Editorial review

This review is a research-based synthesis of 16 published sources, last checked 7 October 2026. We have not played the game ourselves; the scores express our editorial judgment. [How we score games](https://bestadultgames.io/en/methodology.md)

TroubleDays gives a succubus the one problem her profession ought to rule out: she is terrible at seduction. Lovelia moves into your apartment to collect sexual energy, then discovers that wanting somebody and acting on it are rather different skills. Her boobs and revealing outfit supply the immediate attraction; shopping trips, chores and nervous affection give it somewhere to go. The fantasy becomes personal as she finds reasons to want her host beyond the demands of her assignment.

There is enough warmth here to make the eventual sex matter. Repetitive embarrassment gags and poorly signposted choices strain that warmth, especially when an apparently harmless answer sends the romance towards a harsh ending. The free official Steam R-18 patch adds sex, but keeps the scenes static and mosaicked.

## A succubus with more nerves than swagger

Lovelia's fantasies are much bolder than her behaviour. She can turn an innocent remark filthy in her head, then panic when ordinary physical closeness brings that desire within reach. This is her first professional assignment, and she cannot leave her chosen host until she succeeds. Shopping in Akihabara and sharing domestic chores let affection develop during the enforced cohabitation.

The protagonist's restraint gives that affection some credibility. He considers her feelings and allows room for attraction to grow. The script tests this goodwill by keeping him passive through yet another embarrassment gag. Lovelia, too, swings between eager sexual imagination and extreme shyness whenever the comedy needs it. The contradiction is cute until repetition exposes how often the writing relies on it.

The assignment puts pressure on both characters. In the affectionate outcome, mutual desire gives their closeness weight; darker endings expose the discomfort of the supernatural bargain. The domestic sweetness can be persuasive, but it does not make every possible conclusion comfortable.

## The sex scenes lose the sprite's movement

Lovelia's E-mote sprite is the production's strongest asset. Expressions and body movement keep her embarrassment, teasing and nervous affection visible during dialogue. AkasaAi's illustrations give her consistent sexual appeal, and Yuri Ayase's Japanese voice adds personality to a heroine who occupies almost the entire stage. English readers get translated text with that Japanese performance.

Sex changes the rhythm. The adult scenes use still CGs with limited image changes, accompanied by Lovelia's voice. The lively dialogue animation stops short of the bedroom action. The R-18 version contains nudity and explicit sex, with genital mosaics remaining in place. Attractive drawing and vocal performance carry the sensuality; these encounters offer little movement or hands-on control.

The reward is intimacy with one established heroine, with no wider roster of partners to refresh the sexual variety. The scenes benefit from the affection built during the courtship, yet their static staging feels underpowered after so much lively teasing. TroubleDays raises expectations through its everyday animation that its sex scenes struggle to meet.

## Small choices, heavy consequences

Laundry and a bookstore visit can matter far more than the immediate conversation suggests. The plot largely follows the same track, offering little feedback about changes in the relationship. A harsh ending can therefore feel like a hidden answer key has judged your courtship. The player has input, but little help connecting an everyday decision to its emotional consequences.

Progression means reading, choosing occasional responses and reaching an ending. Domestic tasks remain dialogue choices, keeping the time commitment modest. Understanding what those choices do is harder.

Alternate endings and missing CGs give decisions a reason to be revisited. Saves and text skipping reduce the repeated reading, and a walkthrough can untangle the conditions. Reloading to repair an innocuous-looking mistake offers less pleasure than discovering a substantially different relationship. Because the erotic outcome depends on the path, the obscure choices directly obstruct the game's main attraction.

## A romance carried by one woman

Lovelia gets the visual attention the rest of the cast lacks. The surrounding world feels cheaply furnished. Supporting characters speak without portraits or voices. A significant conversation with her supervisor can leave you looking at a background while the other participant remains unseen. These encounters should reveal more about her social world; instead, they show how much of the production rests on its polished lead.

English phrasing and spelling also receive less care than her illustration. The dialogue remains readable, but awkward wording interrupts the flirting and weakens familiar anime jokes. A short romance needs its exchanges to land cleanly. Stale humour and a protagonist who mostly reacts have nowhere to hide.

## A complete story with a separate adult patch

This assessment covers the completed Windows Steam game with qureate's free official R-18 patch. The base installation is suggestive; sex scenes require the separate patch. At the October 2026 check, the regular US Steam price was $12.99, with no paid DLC listed for the app. The modest length and limited sexual variety make full price harder to justify than Lovelia's artwork first suggests.

Switch is a separate non-explicit release with a different credited voice actor. The Steam edition supports English, Japanese and both Chinese text variants, with Japanese voice acting. The story reaches its conclusions without selling another chapter. That completeness helps, but a sale better suits the uneven package: a lovely heroine, static adult rewards and ending conditions that invite avoidable reloading.

## Verdict

Buy TroubleDays on sale for Lovelia. Her expressive animation, Japanese voice and growing affection make the cohabitation fantasy worth following, and the free official patch gives it a sexual conclusion. Still CGs, mosaics and limited variety make the sex a modest reward after such lively teasing. The deeper disappointment is the ending system: trivial-looking choices can sour an invested romance without enough emotional explanation. Lovelia carries this thin production impressively, but even she cannot make repeated coyness and opaque conditions feel satisfying. The charm is real; full price asks too much of it.

### What works

- \+ Lovelia's expressive sprite and Japanese voice sustain the teasing and attraction
- \+ Shared domestic life builds affection before the free official patch's sexual reward
- \+ Self-contained romance with alternate endings and little progression grind

### Drawbacks

- − Static, mosaicked sex scenes offer limited variety after the lively dialogue animation
- − Opaque ending choices, passive writing and a thin supporting cast undermine the romance

## Questions before you play

### Does the Steam version of TroubleDays include sex scenes?

The base Steam installation is suggestive. Sex and nudity require qureate's separate, free official R-18 patch for the PC game. The patched adult scenes retain genital mosaics.

### Are TroubleDays' sex scenes animated and voiced?

Lovelia's dialogue sprite uses E-mote animation. The adult scenes use still illustrations with limited image changes and Japanese voice acting. They offer neither the sprite's continuous movement nor a freely controllable sex simulation.

### Can you romance anyone besides Lovelia?

Lovelia is the sole romance heroine. Choices affect endings and some CG access. Intimacy develops through sharing a home and the tension between her professional assignment and growing affection.

### Why can ordinary choices lead to an unhappy ending?

Small everyday decisions serve as ending conditions, while much of the intervening story stays similar. The game gives little feedback about their consequences. Saves near choices make it easier to revisit them and reach other outcomes; a walkthrough helps when the relationship itself provides no clear clue.

### Is TroubleDays complete, and what does the Steam purchase cost?

It is a completed, self-contained romance with multiple endings. At the October 2026 check, the regular US Steam price was $12.99, with no paid DLC listed. The official adult patch is free. Sales and regional prices can change the checkout total.

### Which platforms and languages does the reviewed edition support?

The assessed Steam package lists Windows and English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese text, with Japanese voice acting. It lists no native macOS or Linux version. Switch is a separate non-explicit edition with a different credited actor for Lovelia; Steam's adult patch is for PC.
