A retired knight with a butt-shaped chin sets out to rescue the kingdom's kidnapped women. His enthusiasm is obvious; his suitability as a romantic lead is considerably less so. ButtKnight gets plenty of comedy from this swaggering idiot, and its attractive illustrations make the farce inviting. The jokes about unwanted sex give that cheerful surface a nasty underside.
This review covers the released Steam base game with its free June 2025 adult-content update. The separate demo and any future sequel fall outside its scope.
A rescue fantasy with a nasty streak

The underworld has kidnapped the kingdom's princesses and other women, giving the knight a straightforward excuse to plough through monsters. His exaggerated expressions, swagger and lowbrow dialogue do most of the storytelling. The adventure reaches a conclusion, but short comic interludes and sexual situations carry it; there is little emotional development behind the next rescue.
A nun, catgirl and demon bring different costumes and associations to the fantasy. Their voluptuous designs are appealing, yet the women often serve much the same role in the knight's appetite. Nonconsensual sex and BDSM are disclosed parts of the content, and unwanted sex frequently supplies the punchline. Rescuing someone does little here to establish mutual trust. That leaves the comedy meaner than the cheerful artwork first suggests.
The four longer camp scenes give their heroines more background and personality. That helps distinguish the women, although the encounters still hurry towards the reward. Flirtation and jokes get a little more room; intimacy remains thin.
The drawings do the seducing
Expressive faces, attractive costumes and exaggerated curves make the illustrated women immediately appealing. The hero's absurd face keeps the farce visible even during sex. Boobs and buttocks receive plenty of attention, but there is less variety in the women's proportions than in their costumes. Changing the fantasy outfit only goes so far when the bodies look so similar.
The sex scenes principally use still frames, changing expressions and transitions, with text and adult sound effects. The drawings can be handsome and playful, but anyone seeking fully animated porn will miss sustained movement. Reused compositions also make some unlocks feel slight: another expression is a small prize after a demanding fight.
Retro combat sprites sit comfortably alongside the larger illustrations, and the arcade soundtrack keeps the shooter lively. Menus, fights and comic interludes share a recognizable style. That consistency gives ButtKnight visual charm even when the writing struggles to make its encounters feel intimate.
Earn the scene with your score

Vertically scrolling stages ask you to shoot enemies, collect coins and survive bosses. Your performance feeds the stripping portrait and the adult rewards, so progress towards sex stays visible during play. It is an entertaining distraction with a useful catch: looking at the woman can cost you the dodge needed to reach her scene.
Ranged weapons and pickups support steady attacks, while a charged close-range strike deals heavy damage and clears projectiles. Limited bombs provide another escape from danger. Timing that charge and deciding when to spend a bomb give combat meaningful choices. The sexual encounters themselves remain authored illustration sequences; control belongs to the shooter.
The four longer scenes added in June 2025 have a simpler gate: free each heroine, then talk to her in camp. An unlocked-scene gallery lets you revisit the earlier rewards. These additions give the porn space away from the pressure of a run, although camp access does little to turn the rescues into developing relationships.
Easy still demands a good dodge

Enemy patterns, hazards and bosses provide enough variety for the brief campaign. Weapons offer little in the way of deep, permanent upgrades, so better dodging and attack timing are the main route forward. That suits the arcade structure, but it can leave access to a desired scene stuck behind a fight that refuses to click.
Easy mode offers a gentler route, while still requiring attention. The June 2025 update reduced the difficulty of stage 5-2 on Easy and Normal; it left Hard alone. Long boss patterns and enemies that absorb plenty of attacks can drag the pace, turning a challenge into repeated waits for an opening.
The bulky protagonist and unclear hitbox feedback can make a failed dodge hard to diagnose. Achievement challenges add reasons to pursue clean play, hunt hidden chests and defeat every enemy in selected stages. Shooter fans have something to master. For someone repeating a stage chiefly to unlock more sex, the limited motion and reused compositions make those extra attempts harder to justify.
What the compact campaign is worth

The free June 2025 update added four longer camp scenes, skippable credits and a way to reset completed save data. The heroines get more breathing room, and returning players get useful conveniences. Complaints about forced credits or the amount of porn at launch therefore describe a thinner package than the one assessed here, although the additions do not create another campaign.
At the October 2026 check, the regular US price was $9.99 and the promotion was $7.99. The lower price better suits a compact shooter with attractive illustrated rewards. Difficulty settings, achievements and scene replay extend its life, but there is little relationship development or deeper sexual interaction to discover once the rewards are collected.
At that check, Steam listed no separate DLC or restoration purchase for the adult content. The developer's potential sequel adds nothing to the value of this finished release. ButtKnight makes its case through fights worth mastering and drawings worth unlocking; its limited scene variety sets a fairly low ceiling on how long those pleasures last.
Verdict
ButtKnight is worth a look for shooter fans who want attractive illustrated sex at the end of a good run. The charged strike, bombs and score rewards give its arcade action purpose, and the free longer camp scenes improve the payoff. Its art is easier to recommend than its intimacy: mostly still scenes, similar bodies and coercive jokes make the encounters feel narrower than the lively presentation promises. The $7.99 promotion recorded in October 2026 suited that compact pleasure. At the recorded $9.99 list price, the thin relationships and repeated compositions make the bargain less convincing.

Questions before you play
Does the Steam base game include explicit sex?
Yes. The developer lists full male and female nudity, fantasy sex, BDSM and nonconsensual sex. At the October 2026 check, Steam listed no separate restoration purchase or adult DLC.
Are the sex scenes fully animated?
They mainly use still illustrations, changing expressions and transitions, with text and adult sound effects. Expect limited scene motion alongside the animated combat sprites.
How do you unlock and replay sex scenes?
Score from enemies and coins drives the stripping portrait and stage rewards. To access the four longer scenes added in June 2025, free the respective heroines and talk to them in camp. An unlocked-scene gallery lets you replay the earlier rewards.
How much romance develops with the heroines?
Camp banter and the longer added scenes give the women some background and personality. The rescue adventure still treats sex chiefly as a reward, with thin mutual chemistry and a significant place for nonconsensual scenarios.
Which platforms and controls does Steam advertise?
The assessed Steam offer lists Windows and macOS, with macOS Big Sur as the Mac minimum and full controller support advertised. The developer describes WASD movement with JKL or mouse-button attacks, plus Xbox and PlayStation controller options. Mouse-button attacks do not establish a complete mouse-only mode. No native Linux, phone or browser edition is listed in this offer.
Is ButtKnight complete, and what does the price include?
The standalone Steam campaign is released, with the free June 2025 scenes and quality-of-life changes included. In October 2026, Steam showed a $9.99 US list price and a $7.99 promotion, with no additional DLC purchase listed. The separate demo and any future sequel are excluded from this assessment.
