Chasing Sunsets has a weakness for gorgeous women, wounded feelings and complicated family secrets. After his parents’ deaths, the protagonist returns home and reconnects with his estranged stepsister Jaye. An inheritance, a lawsuit and an investigative reporter soon complicate the reunion. Sex arrives slowly as teasing and conversation draw out feelings neither sibling has dealt with.
That courtship makes intimacy matter, but the opening asks you to absorb a lot of family history before the romances gain momentum. Later, an elaborate corporate thriller competes for your attention. The game rewards a patient reader; it also gives that patience a thorough workout.
Jaye and Mallory make the courtship count

Jaye anchors the drama. Her history with the protagonist lets affection, resentment and sexual tension rub against one another, and repairing their connection gives the eventual intimacy a satisfying release. Mallory brings playful sexual confidence, with wants and vulnerabilities underneath it. Both women give the courtship somewhere to go beyond the next scene of nudity.
Teasing, anticipation and erotic dialogue set the mood for sensual sex. The acts themselves are mostly familiar; the taboo premise supplies much of the edge. Attractive bodies and careful staging help, but the strongest fantasy is feeling wanted by someone whose history and desires you have come to understand.
Family taboos and a thriller with a lot to say
Jaye is the protagonist’s stepsister, and later revelations introduce genetic and incest themes that go well beyond a forbidden crush. These increasingly strange family secrets sit at the heart of the story. They may deepen the fantasy for readers drawn to that taboo, or make an otherwise appealing romance uncomfortable. They are a substantial part of what you are signing up for.
A medical breakthrough and corporate intrigue give the women stakes outside the bedroom. Exposition, conspiracies and legal drama can overwhelm their chemistry, though. Memes and references to other adult games also recur often enough to make distinct characters sound like the same pop-culture enthusiast. The emotional scenes land better when the writing stops showing off its reference collection.
Love points put romance under pressure
Visible love and trust points, plus relationship summaries between chapters, make flirting consequential. Pursuing one woman, both or neither can lead to different outcomes. Much of the surrounding plot still follows a set course: many answers change a reaction or score without substantially changing the scene. The protagonist has his own personality and history, which place firm limits on your control.
A polyamorous outcome takes careful choices, and a poor relationship decision can leave you single after a long courtship. Keep multiple saves. Point management can interrupt the pleasure of letting a romance unfold naturally. Patch 1.01 added choices to the casual relationship route to repair an unfair outcome, but the remaining rules still demand attention. Some flashback sex is fixed history you cannot decline.
Beautiful later scenes, uneven polish
Later scenes pair attractive character models with expressive faces, careful lighting and animated sex that can sustain the mood. Music and sound effects add atmosphere, while changes in framing keep lengthy conversations visually active. When the erotic dialogue and images click, the long buildup feels worth waiting through.
Earlier art is less refined, some models look plastic and movement can be stiff. The opening’s old slideshow sex has received animation replacements, so its presentation has improved, but the encounters still vary in finish. Scene and image galleries make unlocked favourites easy to revisit. A brief side encounter remains brief, however conveniently you can replay it.
A finished story with a hurried goodbye
The Steam game includes the prologue and Chapters 1–10. Chapter 9 settles the main direction of your ending; Chapter 10 follows through on the lawsuit and the characters’ futures. Jaye and Mallory remain the substantial romances. Other women offer encounters and some ending variations, but the expanded farewell does not turn each side character into a developed romantic route. Eight advertised endings mean considerably fewer than eight rich relationships.
Having a complete story improves the value, even when the final chapter’s jumps through time make the goodbye feel hurried. The story and explicit scenes come in one purchase, with no separate adult-content add-on. A different central romance or poly outcome gives you a reason to return. Repeating long shared passages to rescue a lost ending makes a second visit less appealing.
Verdict

Choose Chasing Sunsets for the slow courtship with Jaye and Mallory. Their chemistry gives its best sex scenes warmth and emotional weight, and the later animation makes the payoff attractive. A completed story and epilogue make the time investment easier to justify. The obstacles are substantial: family taboos are central, the thriller can bury the romance in exposition, and strict love points make affection feel like something you must get right on a test. Patient readers drawn to the two main women will find plenty to enjoy. Expect less freedom and depth from the supporting romances than the cast and ending count suggest.
What works
- +Slow-burn chemistry makes the central sex scenes rewarding
- +Attractive later art, animated sex and atmospheric music
- +Complete story and epilogue in one purchase
Drawbacks
- −Strict relationship points can derail a long courtship
- −Heavy exposition, family taboos and shallow side romances limit the appeal
Questions before you play
Does Chasing Sunsets include the finished story and epilogue?
Yes. The Steam game includes the prologue and Chapters 1–10. Chapter 9 took it out of Early Access in August 2024, and the final Chapter 10 update arrived in July 2025. This review covers that completed story; the planned remaster is separate.
Are the sex scenes included in the Steam purchase?
Yes. The Steam game includes explicit sex and nudity, and its completed epilogue comes with the same purchase. No separate adult-content DLC was listed at the October 2026 check, when the US Steam price was $14.99.
Can Jaye and Mallory both be your partners?
Yes, a Jaye-and-Mallory poly ending is possible. Relationship points and earlier decisions make it more demanding than casually pursuing both women. Patch 1.01 added extra choices to the casual route, but keeping separate saves is still sensible.
Does every woman have a full romance route?
No. Jaye and Mallory receive the main romance development. Other women have side encounters or particular ending variations, including some Chapter 10 outcomes. Those appearances do not add up to an equally substantial romance for each character.
What sex and adult themes should you expect?
The game includes stepsibling romance, incest themes tied to genetic engineering, explicit nudity and mostly familiar sexual encounters. Slow-burn intimacy and emotional drama shape the sex, while some flashback encounters are fixed history you cannot decline. The story also contains violence and references to suicide and self-harm.
Which edition and platforms does this review cover?
This review covers the Steam edition for Windows, macOS and Linux. An Android port and the planned remaster are outside its scope. The developer says the remaster will be free to existing purchasers and will break old saves; it receives no credit here as released content.
