An American postgraduate arrives in Edinburgh to study magic and finds a princess, an alarming destiny and homework worth paying attention to. Coffee, pub shifts, training and dates sit beside mythological danger. Those routines give the sex some weight: you spend time with these women before their clothes come off.
Love of Magic is earnest even when it gets dirty. Its affection can make sex worth waiting for; lengthy fantasy exposition can make the wait feel much longer than it should.
Emily keeps the leading role

Emily’s sense of duty and sexual inexperience shape the central romance. Study sessions, intimate homework and dates build a relationship with a woman whose obligations extend beyond the bedroom. The early fixation on her virginity can feel like an artificial brake, but her gradual discovery of intimacy gives later sex emotional weight.
Emily remains the lead even if another woman catches your eye. Katie’s strip-MMA challenge and her strip-poker night with Bella bring competitive, playful energy; Molly’s forward teasing offers a different attraction. The game has room for several women, yet divides its attention unevenly. Your favorite cannot take Emily’s place at the heart of the story.
Love, loyalty and magical power

Erotic class assignments make intimacy part of learning magic, and the growing circle of Chosen ties the harem to the hero’s supernatural rise. Love, loyalty and power feed one another in a flattering fantasy of being needed. Joining the retinue can feel so easy that destiny seems to have done much of the seducing.
The story also includes sexual coercion and blackmail, while magical bonds and allegiance lend the harem a possessive edge. Warm dates and willing encounters share this world with darker power dynamics. The tone is more complicated than those cozy daily routines first suggest.
The renders are more alluring than the movement

Sex combines still renders with animated sequences. The women are appealing, and the game is generous with boobs and nudity, but the movement does not always sustain the desire built in dialogue. Stiff poses and awkward expressions can drain the heat from a scene. Animation adds welcome presence; still images remain a substantial part of the payoff, with music carrying much of the mood.
Unlocked encounters can be revisited through the scene-replay menu. Molly’s later repeatable dance-studio visit gives her teasing a little more room: buying her an outfit in the game leads to an email that opens a meeting you can revisit. It is a welcome exception to the usual one-off erotic events, though it does not make the whole harem equally available for repeat intimacy.
Put desire on the calendar

Training, reading, working and socializing build stats and income. The central story moves ahead without perfect preparation, while optional encounters can depend on particular stats, items or visits. Katie’s strip fighting rewards balanced training. Bella’s strip-poker invitation is for that evening, so going to bed instead can mean missing it. Scheduling determines which encounters you get to see.
Those requirements give successful side encounters a sense of effort and payoff. Missing one is less satisfying when its trigger is obscure or a fixed story event eats the time reserved for somebody else. As optional content thins out, training and dungeon trips can turn into chores between significant meetings. Planning a relationship is enjoyable; padding out a timetable is less romantic.
Poker gives the companions another purpose

Fights use a shared card board to build poker hands; equipped gems turn those combinations into magical effects. Emily’s protection, Katie’s firepower and Molly’s joker support give the women useful roles beyond their sex scenes. Building a party and adapting to the cards put the hero’s growing power to work.
Repeated battles can wear thin when you are eager to reach the next date. Auto-play cuts down the card handling, but it cannot hurry the reading or the calendar. Routine fights still interrupt the flow between moments of intimacy.
One book on Steam, three on itch

The October 2026 prices put Steam Book 1 at $14.99 US and the developer’s three-book itch package at $15. Steam’s purchase includes the completed first book, explicit content and its released free updates, without an adult patch. Books 2 and 3 are separate purchases there and continue the saga. Trilogy New Game+ requires a completed Book 3 save.
Verdict

Love of Magic: Book 1 is worth buying for the affection behind its power fantasy. Emily’s developing romance, the companions’ distinct erotic personalities and sex woven into lessons and daily life give the nudity emotional purpose. Poker adds worthwhile decisions, while the calendar occasionally turns anticipation into admin. The compromises matter: Emily remains the fixed lead, other women receive uneven attention, and the rendered sex is inconsistently polished. A finished first-book arc makes this a rewarding beginning despite those flaws. Its $14.99 US list price in October 2026 covered that opening book; the larger saga and final romantic resolution require the separately purchased sequels.
