An animated fantasy harem let down by clumsy courtship and tiring sex controls

Soma refuses an empress's demand to join her harem, then sets off to oppose her with a party of beautiful allies. Political alliances, enormous boobs and emotional backstories all share the stage, with gem battles between conversations. It is a lively basis for a shameless fantasy. The cast looks ready for romance, but the script keeps missing its cue: contrived fights and abrupt changes of heart make courtship feel like another procedure to complete.

A fantasy party with uneven chemistry

The party's appeal rests on recognisable personalities as well as fantasy costumes. Erica is blunt and protective; Verchino brings a vampire leader's authority; Remriel has the fierce sense of duty of a sanctuary guardian. Their softer responses to Soma give the adventure some warmth, while one continuing story connects the women and their alliances. There is enough character here to make you want more than the next picture.

Wish is far less persuasive about how these women fall for him. A fixed sequence of battles advances each relationship, even when another confrontation seems unnecessary because the woman already wants to help. Traumatic histories, flirting and easy acceptance of the harem rarely settle into a convincing emotional arc. Worse, the story introduces coercion and sexual assault while still presenting Soma as a noble hero. That inconsistency damages a fantasy built around affection and trust.

Animated sex with a tiring mouse routine

With the free R18 DLC installed, the adult rewards include animated sex scenes and Japanese performances that bring the women's reactions to life. The encounters are interactive: an initial routine lets you choose interactions, attend to responsive areas and manage limited stamina. Later scenes ask for repeated side-to-side mouse movement. Wish makes sex part of the progression, though the controls offer less variety than the cast's designs suggest.

Paying attention to a woman's responses gives the first routine some erotic purpose. The later mouse exercise is much harder to defend. Repeating the same movement can turn an attractive scene into a chore, and busier hands do little to deepen intimacy. The animation and voices provide most of the arousal; the input rarely makes an encounter feel specific to the woman or to the relationship that led there. Once the novelty wears off, the routine starts competing with the pleasure it is supposed to support.

Upgrades take the bite out of gem battles

Matches fuel physical attacks, magic, healing and a fever meter. Enemies have abilities that affect the fight, and gold pays for stat increases, skills and consumable items. These systems give the journey a workable rhythm: read some story, win a battle, improve Soma and move toward the next adult encounter. Basic matching has enough appeal to keep the puzzle side going when the dialogue falters.

Upgrades upset that rhythm. Spend heavily on damage and battles can end before the more elaborate skills become useful; spend on less helpful improvements and an early obstacle can drag. Skills and fever need clearer explanation, while bigger numbers too often offer the simplest solution. The result is less satisfying for both halves of the game. Routine victories make combat feel perfunctory, and another compulsory fight does little to build anticipation for sex.

Strong art, weak words

Detailed character designs and attractive fantasy backgrounds do much of Wish's persuading. Live2D movement brings portraits and adult scenes to life, though constant boob jiggle looks ridiculous when the conversation turns serious. The erotic staging is uneven, too: a striking portrait does not guarantee equally convincing anatomy or animation in a sex scene. The cast still has a strong visual identity, but those inconsistencies become harder to overlook when the scenes rely so heavily on their looks.

Japanese voice acting supplies warmth, teasing and emotion that the English script often loses. The soundtrack is unusually memorable for a cheap porn game, although energetic songs can overwhelm quieter voices in the default mix. Translation causes the greater damage. Mangled sentences, typos and inconsistent character names make even straightforward exchanges difficult to follow. That is especially costly in a romance: attraction loses momentum when you have to stop and work out what someone meant.

The original adventure and its separate extras

Items and equipment add to Soma's combat options throughout the original adventure. The original main story was completed in July 2020. This review covers that adventure with the free Innocent story DLC, which adds Verchino and Abigail's scenarios and battles, and the free R18 unlock. Beyond Fate is a paid continuation after the main conflict. The art book and soundtrack also cost extra, while WISH - Paradise High is a separate game. The original story reaches its own ending without the paid continuation.

At the October 6, 2026 check, the US base game had a $2.99 list price and a $2.09 sale price. That makes the art and voices an easy indulgence, but the low cost does not shorten a tiring sex routine or improve the English. Unlocked CGs and adult scenes can be revisited, giving favourite women some lasting appeal. A fresh run through the linear harem offers much less: familiar battles and sexual routines leave little reason to repeat the whole adventure. The gallery is the more convincing return trip.

Verdict

Wish is worth a cheap look for its fantasy women, Japanese voices and animated sex, provided romance is a bonus rather than your main reason to play. The completed original adventure brings the cast together, but rough English, contrived battles and sexual coercion leave their relationships badly underserved. Overpowered upgrades and repetitive sex controls also make the road to pleasure feel mechanical. The art justifies the modest base price more convincingly than the writing justifies your attention. Enjoying the women is easy; caring about how Soma wins them is the harder sell.

What works

  • +Distinct fantasy women, animated sex scenes and Japanese voices
  • +Enjoyable basic gem matching with stats, skills and items to develop
  • +Low-priced completed original story with free R18 and Innocent DLC

Drawbacks

  • −Rough English, shallow courtship and coercion undermine the romance
  • −Repetitive mouse controls and overpowered upgrades turn progress into routine

Questions before you play

Does Wish include explicit sex, and do I need the adult DLC?

The separately listed free WIsh - Free Patch (Steam app 1231450) unlocks R18 content in the original game, including explicit animated adult scenes. This review includes it. The unpatched base should not be assumed to contain the same sexual material, and DLC availability can depend on your Steam region.

What does the free Innocent DLC add?

Wish - Innocent adds scenarios and battles for Verchino and Abigail. It is free and requires the original Wish game. The official full-release announcement tells new purchasers to install it, and this review includes its material.

Is the original story complete?

Yes. Wish's May 2020 release preceded the final main-story update, announced on July 14, 2020. Beyond Fate is a separate paid continuation after the main conflict; you do not need it to finish the original story.

What do I control in the battles and sex scenes?

Battles use gem matching for physical and magical damage, healing and fever, supported by stat upgrades, skills and items. Adult scenes unlock through character progression. Their routines include selecting interactions and managing stamina, followed by repeated side-to-side mouse input in later sex scenes. Unlocked CGs and adult scenes can be revisited.

Which platforms and voices does this edition advertise?

The original game, free R18 patch and Innocent DLC advertise Windows and macOS, with no Linux game build listed. Japanese has full audio; English has interface and subtitle support. These listings do not establish compatibility with every modern Mac or handheld. At the October 2026 check, Beyond Fate listed Windows only in its platform checkboxes despite retaining Mac requirement text.

What costs extra, and is Paradise High included?

At the October 6, 2026 check, the original US base game listed at $2.99 and was on sale for $2.09. Beyond Fate had a $1.99 list price; the art book and soundtrack each listed at $2.99 before discounts. These are separate paid products. WISH - Paradise High is a distinct game (Steam app 1573300) and is excluded from this review.
