Meshy 5 matters when an old tutorial or saved API recipe still points to it. Meshy's comparison guide records discontinuation in August 2026; the API changelog gives October 10, 2026 as the retirement date and says later meshy-5 requests return an error. Meshy recommends 6 Lite as the successor. Save accepted assets, reference inputs and settings before migrating, then compare a representative asset to catch changes in appearance. An older model can still explain how an asset was made, even after it stops being a usable production choice. Start new work on a supported version.

Commercial use & license

Proprietary hosted model. Paid-plan users can keep output private and own it to the extent allowed by law, subject to source rights and publication conditions. Free-plan output uses CC BY 4.0; that license does not grant access to model weights.

Adult content rules

Meshy's acceptable-use policy prohibits creating, uploading or sharing pornographic material. Its relevance to adult-game development is limited to permitted non-explicit props, environments and clothed character references.
