Cube3D is useful for studying how text becomes geometry. Its named v0.1 artifacts are research-only; the exact scope for v0.5 needs clarification. The repository provides a shape tokenizer, reconstruction commands and text-to-mesh inference that exports .obj files. Texture generation remains listed as upcoming for Cube3D. The CUBE3D RESEARCH-ONLY RAIL-MS license names Cube3d-v0.1 and related inference code and limits use to academic or research purposes, with restrictions on outputs too. The README now defaults to v0.5, while that model's Hugging Face card supplies only a broad OpenRAIL tag. That mismatch does not establish commercial permission. This page covers the local research release, separate from CSM's hosted Cube and Roblox Studio.

Commercial use & license

CUBE3D RESEARCH-ONLY RAIL-MS names Cube3d-v0.1 and related inference code. Use is limited to academic or research purposes, and output use must also comply. The v0.5 model card's broad OpenRAIL tag does not establish a separate commercial grant.

Adult content rules

Commercial adult-game production is prohibited for the named artifacts under the research-only terms. The license contains no explicit blanket ban on consensual adult sexual content, but its restrictions on unlawful content and use of real people’s likenesses without prior informed consent still apply. Roblox-hosted tools have separate platform rules.

What you need

Match the weights to the v0.1 or v0.5 configuration. The repository recommends at least 24GB VRAM for fast CUDA inference or 16GB otherwise. It documents an MPS path for compatible Macs; fast inference does not run on macOS. Blender 4.3+ is needed for turntable GIFs. PyMeshLab is optional; omitting it disables mesh simplification. Local inference and hosted account access remain untested.

Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
