Furry Shades of Gay has a good eye for a tempting setup. Cunningham meets an old flame at a bar; Riley puts on a maid outfit to welcome his husband; newly qualified lawyer Alvin meets an unusually distracting client. Match-three objectives decide how these encounters unfold and which sex animations you unlock.
The trouble comes after the introductions. Some men have enough history and tenderness to make the attraction stick. Others rush into a routine where reluctance seems to mean “ask again.” The anthology's charm depends on the couple, and the boards can interrupt even its better moments.
The reunions have the strongest chemistry

Old Flames gives Cunningham and Cameron a reason to want each other beyond being conveniently attractive. Their history and slower approach leave room for tenderness. The Valentine addition finds similar warmth in old friends Azzie and Rowly, whose uncertainty makes admitting their feelings matter.
The other setups get down to business quickly. Riley and Maximus bring domestic seduction, Alvin and Marcus an attorney-client entanglement, and Jake's Pride Parade outing a spontaneous hookup. The circumstances and animal designs give each pairing a distinct first impression.
Across six main stories and the released holiday material, that first impression often does most of the work. Short branches favour quick sexual possibilities. Repeated invitations and familiar porn dialogue leave little room for personalities to develop.
Refusals matter, even in a porn fantasy

Dorm Buddies is the clearest example of the writing souring the sex. Robbie keeps pushing Wolfgang through hesitation and refusals; Defense Attorney similarly brings coercion into Alvin and Marcus's encounter. Comic enthusiasm brushes past the boundaries, leaving too little care or context behind the kink.
The married-couple fantasy stumbles too. Maximus's exhaustion ought to give Riley something to respond to. Pushing past it makes the seduction less inviting, and marriage cannot supply the attentiveness the scene lacks. An assertive lover still needs to listen.
Old Flames and the Valentine pairing make the difference plain. Both men seem interested, and affection has time to register. Warmth is part of the arousal, and pressure can kill it.
Branching goals, stubborn boards

Larger matches create bonuses, including bombs from T- or L-shaped patterns. Planning moves and choosing objectives gives you useful decisions. Scarce target pieces, awkward layouts and demanding goals can still force repeated attempts at the very branch that caught your interest.
Collecting the required icons opens paths through a scene tree. Different objectives can lead to alternative conversations or sexual outcomes within a fixed pairing. A branch feels worth pursuing when it changes the mood or the characters' roles.
Currency earned in play buys extra moves and boosters. They help, but needing another tool or a luckier board makes unlocking sex feel like paperwork. The puzzles can be enjoyable challenges; repetition too often stretches a brief encounter until the anticipation has gone flat.
Voiced sex, uneven performances

Riley's maid outfit turns a familiar domestic setup into a playful invitation. The encounters reward selected paths with explicit male nudity, illustrated scenes and 2D sex animation. Animal-headed men, exaggerated physiques and different drawing styles give the pairings visual variety. Your main choices concern the path to the scene.
The free June 2023 update added vocal performances to the sex animations, giving them more presence than silent moving artwork. Dialogue around those scenes still requires reading. Forced or artificial delivery can break the mood, so the extra sound sometimes distracts instead of exciting.
Movement can look puppet-like, some final moments use still images, and changes in drawing style make character appeal inconsistent. Attractive illustrations do not always translate into convincing motion. The exaggerated bodies will divide tastes.
Story Mode makes returning to a couple easier

Story Mode lets you choose paths without repeating the puzzles after you unlock every chapter in a particular story. Returning to a favourite couple becomes easier. You still have to earn that convenience, so it improves replay without fixing the first visit's uneven rhythm.
Bonus art and released holiday mini-stories give the cast another outing. The softer seasonal moments work when they let the men enjoy each other's company. Unlock challenges extend the collection too, although another board guarding another picture can turn a bonus into a chore.
The complete Steam Windows original's regular US price was $6.99 in October 2026. Explicit sex and the vocal update are included, with no uncensor patch required. The optional Supporter Art Pack, soundtrack and 4K Animations Pack supply exports; the animation pack contains voiced MP4 files, not new romance routes. None is required for the base game's sex.
Verdict
Furry Shades of Gay is a decent low-cost choice for gay furry porn, with its affectionate reunions supplying the strongest appeal. Cunningham and Cameron, along with Azzie and Rowly, have chemistry the hurried scripts elsewhere badly need. Branching goals give the puzzles a purpose, and Story Mode makes returning easier once the unlocks are done. Stubborn boards, stiff animation and artificial vocal delivery still chip away at the pleasure. Coercion is the larger objection: the game too often hurries past it with a grin. Its men are much easier to like than all their encounters.

Questions before you play
Does the original Steam game need an uncensor patch?
No. Explicit nudity and animated sex are included in the base game. The free June 2023 update added vocal performances to the sex animations. The export DLC is optional.
Can you skip the match-three puzzles from the start?
No. Story Mode opens after you unlock every chapter in a particular story. It then lets you choose paths without repeating the puzzles. Initial unlocks still require the matching challenges.
What do the branching choices change?
Different puzzle objectives open different paths within a fixed pairing, including alternative conversations and sexual outcomes. Each scenario follows its own couple; you do not choose whom to court from the whole cast.
Is every story a consensual romance?
No. Dorm Buddies and Defense Attorney include coercion and ignored refusals, and even the married-couple scenario can be pushy. Old Flames and the Valentine story offer gentler affection. Having choices does not make every encounter consensual.
Are the paid packs required for the sex scenes?
No. The Supporter Art Pack supplies original-resolution artwork and extras, the soundtrack supplies music, and the 4K Animations Pack exports voiced animations as MP4 files. The base already includes sex, and these packs do not add romance routes.
Which edition and platforms does this review cover?
The complete original Steam Windows game, including its free story, bonus-art and sex-audio updates. Furlough Games separately sells an itch package listing Windows and Android; Android update parity is unconfirmed. The later Furry Shades of Gay games are separate purchases.
