Sumire's boobs get more dependable attention than her ninja skills. Her revealing outfit, bashful reactions and domestic mishaps leave little doubt about the fantasy. What makes it appealing is the time spent sharing a small home: meals and small kindnesses give the eventual sex a relationship to belong to. Sumire's charm has to carry nearly everything, though, including the weak choices and awkward English.
This review covers the original Steam Windows game with Qureate's free official R18 patch. NinNinDays2 and the separate console edition are outside its scope.
A ninja who needs a home
After the protagonist feeds a starving Sumire, she appoints him her master and moves into his apartment to repay the debt. He is drifting through part-time work; she has ninja training and almost no understanding of city life. Being suddenly essential to an attractive woman who wants to stay close is the central fantasy.
Her appetite, disastrous domestic efforts and bafflement at everyday appliances give their shared life a comic rhythm. Taking a job at a maid café gives her a chance to contribute, a more persuasive romantic detail than another accidental glimpse of underwear. Their affection grows through the practical business of getting each other through a day.
Sumire's gratitude and sexual inexperience make the arrangement less comfortable than the cheerful tone suggests. She calls the protagonist master, and the writing seldom probes that imbalance. Her clumsiness can be endearing, but keeping her dependent on his competence also makes the romance awfully convenient for him.
Lovely sex illustrations, with clear limits
The Steam base game omits the full sex sequences. Qureate's separate, free R18 patch restores them, with mosaic censorship intact. The sexual-content tags on the store page do not mean the purchase alone includes every adult scene; the patch is part of getting the version reviewed here.
The restored encounters use illustrated CGs and written scenes. E-mote animates Sumire's everyday portrait, while the sex remains static. Attractive staging, her reactions and the affection established beforehand carry those scenes. There is little to do beyond read and look, so anyone hoping for animated sex or hands-on control will hit the game's limits quickly.
The small selection puts considerable weight on the buildup. Meals, mishaps and dates can make the sex feel warmer, but they also ask you to enjoy Sumire's company for its own sake. Once the familiar pictures have been seen, strong art has little fresh material left to offer.
Choose kindness, then choose an ending

NinNinDays concentrates on one heroine. Choices steer the relationship toward different conclusions and affect access to event images, giving an answer consequences without offering much freedom in how to court her. Most of the reading follows the same domestic progression toward Sumire.
The decisions tend to reward straightforward kindness and support. That fits the romance, but leaves little room to give the protagonist a distinct personality or negotiate the arrangement between master and guest. Helping Sumire feels appropriate; repeatedly selecting the reassuring answer makes a rather thin relationship mechanic.
Returning mainly changes how this bond concludes and fills gaps in the collection. The gallery and memory feature make unlocked material convenient to revisit, without requiring another full read to reach every familiar scene. They are useful conveniences, but the shared courtship gives replay little room for surprise.
The art flirts better than the English
AkasaAi's art gives Sumire a strong visual identity, from her elaborate ninja outfit to her everyday encounters. The event illustrations supply the erotic appeal, and her moving portrait gives ordinary conversations some life. Its stock gestures soon become familiar, however; movement can only do so much when the performance keeps repeating itself.
Mikan Nonaka voices Sumire in the Steam edition. Her enthusiasm and embarrassment give simple exchanges a personality the English text cannot always sustain. Advancing too quickly can cut a spoken line short, an irritating interruption when the voice is doing so much to sell her charm.
The English script has awkward phrasing, typos and occasional confusing lines. Those faults hurt most when the dialogue asks you to feel affection or desire: a broken sentence can flatten tenderness or make a sex scene funny for the wrong reason. Sumire is more consistently convincing in a picture than on the page.
A brief romance better bought on sale

Sumire's maid-café appearance supplies a change of scenery and another attractive costume. It is a welcome break from the apartment, but the game remains a compact romance with one woman. After its endings and gallery, affection for her is the chief reason to return; the limited choices and sex variety offer little incentive of their own.
The original story reaches its own conclusions, and NinNinDays2 is a separate purchase. The adult patch is free; the Steam listing had no attached DLC as of October 2026. Finishing this version does not require buying a scene pack or the sequel.
The regular US Steam price recorded in October 2026 was $12.99. That is a substantial ask for a short romance with shallow choices and rough English, even with such attractive art. Its compactness does spare you resource chores and stat grinding. A discount makes this small indulgence much easier to recommend.
Verdict
Buy NinNinDays on sale for Sumire's company and AkasaAi's art. Shared meals and domestic mishaps lend its late sex some warmth, even if the rescued-ninja premise keeps the relationship awfully convenient for the protagonist. The free official R18 patch completes the adult experience with static, mosaic-censored scenes. Rough English and obvious choices do little to deepen it, and the small selection gives repeat visits a low ceiling. At the $12.99 US Steam price recorded in October 2026, Sumire does too much work to justify the bill. Her charm deserves better dialogue.

Questions before you play
Does the Steam purchase include sex scenes?
The base game omits the full sex sequences. Qureate offers a separate free R18 patch for the Steam PC game. The restored scenes retain mosaic censorship.
Are the sex scenes animated?
The original game's restored sex scenes are still illustrations with text. E-mote animates Sumire's regular dialogue portrait.
Can I date more than one heroine?
Sumire is the original game's only romantic focus. Different choices and endings concern this relationship; there are no other independently developed partners to pursue.
What do the choices and gallery change?
Choices influence the ending and access to some event images, while most of the domestic story stays the same. The gallery and memory feature let you revisit unlocked material without reading through the whole story again to reach a scene.
Do I need NinNinDays2 to finish this story?
No. The original reaches its own conclusions. NinNinDays2 is a separate game and purchase, rather than a final episode or adult DLC for the original.
Which platforms, text languages and voice are included?
The reviewed Steam package lists Windows, with English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese text and Japanese audio. Qureate credits Mikan Nonaka as Sumire in the Steam version and Mika Onoyama in the separate Switch edition. Steam lists no native macOS, Linux or Android build.
