Cupid has a shopping list, and most of it leads to trouble. In Perky Little Things, you search a crowded illustration, find the missing prop and hand it to the person who can turn it into another dirty joke. Boobs are everywhere; seduction has the afternoon off.

The detail is what makes that premise work. These hand-drawn worlds offer more to inspect than a generic strip-puzzle backdrop, and the pleasure lies in discovering an outrageous little situation you had overlooked. The people rarely become more than participants in a gag, though, and some of those gags hinge on coercion. The game is better at staging sexual chaos than making you care about anyone caught in it.

A crowded cast, very little chemistry

A brief comic story sends naughty cupids out to spread love. Christmas, pirates, vampires, science fiction and the Wild West supply themes for crowded stages of sexual mischief. The story links the stops on the tour, but offers little reason to follow along beyond seeing what the next picture contains.

You are an observer arranging these scenes. Recognizable parodies, exaggerated bodies and ridiculous predicaments give the cast its appeal; an expression or familiar costume can catch your eye before the joke lands. Nobody develops into a partner through dating, personal revelations or relationship choices. The fantasy is making a whole cartoon world misbehave, with visual variety and comic timing doing most of the work that chemistry would do elsewhere.

The inventory lists objects hidden in a large illustration. Locating one is only the first step: you then place it with the person or prop that needs it. A drink, a key or another ordinary-looking object can change a small scene. Some changes expose another item, turning the level into a chain of discoveries.

Those connections are the most satisfying part of the design. Spotting the object, recognizing its use and seeing the joke unfold gives the sexual reward a little build-up. Repeated clicks can also reveal hidden interactions or secrets. Completing the required matches opens the next world, so progress comes from exploring the pictures rather than grinding a separate currency.

The logic is not consistently readable. An obscure pairing can leave you waving every object across every character until something highlights. A timed magnifying-glass hint points you towards a useful area, and highlighting can identify a valid target. Both keep the hunt moving, but they cannot make a baffling solution feel clever. Guessing the developer's joke can become the least amusing part of it.

When the joke spoils the sex

Sex is already happening in these worlds before you solve every puzzle. Finding an object can add a gag or change an existing situation, rather than always opening a new encounter. Heterosexual and lesbian content is scattered across busy cartoon tableaux. The sexual appeal comes from exploring the whole picture; you are not choosing someone for a private encounter.

The better visual jokes make the crude tone entertaining, and a drawing can be arousing when the humour complements its appeal. Other setups sacrifice attraction for grotesque spectacle or humiliation. Some involve sexual coercion, including people trapped or overpowered. Cartoon exaggeration does little to soften the ugliness of those punchlines.

Censored, Mature and Adult Only presentation settings change how much is shown. They leave the underlying situations and their attitude towards the people in the picture intact. Reducing the nudity does not create chemistry or turn a coercive joke into an affectionate encounter.

The drawings do most of the work

The hand-drawn art is the strongest reason to buy. Large themed compositions reward looking around, with exaggerated characters and background detail giving you something to enjoy while searching. The style has the cheek of an old adult comic. Contributions from different art teams bring visible stylistic shifts between boards, though the quality and consistency vary too.

Animation is modest. Parts of the pictures breathe, stretch or move in short loops, while some object matches mainly change a still pose. That can deliver a punchline, but it offers little of the sustained movement or performance that makes an animated sex scene compelling.

Limited camera zoom makes attractive details harder to appreciate, and tiny targets hurt both the puzzle and its payoff: an awkward click can lead to an erotic change barely visible inside the wider image. Setting-themed music adds atmosphere, but short loops and sparse effects wear thin. No full voice track is advertised. The drawings have to sustain the humour and arousal largely by themselves.

Once you know the punchlines

The released base has ten illustrated levels. Returning can uncover missed secrets or let you enjoy a favourite composition again, but the object placements and results remain fixed. There are no relationship branches to explore on a second run, and knowing the solutions removes much of the discovery. The ending's continuation tease does not include an expansion or guarantee that this campaign will grow.

A board works best as a complete session. The repeated search-and-match routine can outlast the gag, especially when a final tiny target holds up progress. The February 2021 fixes repaired resets of unlocked secrets and addressed excessively fast animation in the Windows build. Later announcements promoting other games do not add content to this campaign.

The separate Digital Art Collection sells high-resolution in-game and unused artwork; explicit sex is already included in the base. That extra makes sense chiefly as appreciation of the drawings. As a game, Perky Little Things is easier to justify at a discount: its art and initial discoveries are appealing, but limited interaction and fading novelty make full price less persuasive.

Verdict

Perky Little Things is worth a discounted purchase for its detailed cartoon art and dirty visual comedy. The prop chains give the hunt a satisfying rhythm of discovery, use and punchline. Arbitrary matches, tiny targets and restricted zoom interrupt that rhythm, while limited animation makes the sex less convincing than the drawings suggest. Coercive jokes can spoil the mood outright, and the Cupid story gives you little reason to care about the cast. Enjoying the illustrations is its strongest selling point. The erotic performance and fixed puzzles offer much less once the initial surprises are gone.

  • +Explicit content included in the base, with optional censorship settings

Drawbacks

  • −Arbitrary matches, tiny targets and limited zoom interrupt the payoff
  • −Limited animation, thin chemistry and coercive jokes weaken the erotic appeal

Questions before you play

Is the cartoon sex included, or sold separately?

The released Steam base includes explicit cartoon sex, with Censored, Mature and Adult Only presentation settings. It does not require a restoration patch. An early plan for adult DLC was replaced before release by optional in-game censorship. The paid Digital Art Collection contains artwork, so you do not need it to see the base game's sex.

What do I control in the puzzles and sexual scenes?

You find listed objects, collect them and place them with the correct person or prop. Some changes reveal more items, creating chains of interactions, while certain secrets respond to repeated clicks. The sexual results are predetermined visual changes; you do not manually control bodies or freely choose positions. A timed hint and target highlighting help with obscure matches.

How much story is there, and is the campaign finished?

A brief Cupid story frames the released campaign of ten illustrated levels. Characters mainly participate in visual jokes, without developed dating routes or relationship choices. The ending teases a continuation, but extra levels or a sequel are not included in this base purchase.

Are the sex scenes fully animated and voiced?

Animation is often limited to breathing or other short loops, and some interactions mainly change a still pose. These are not extended full-motion performances. Audio consists chiefly of setting-themed music and effects; Steam lists eight interface languages without advertising a full voice track. Limited zoom also restricts how closely you can inspect parts of a scene.

Can I revisit levels, and what should I know about saving?

You can revisit worlds to find missed secrets or enjoy the artwork, but object placements and results remain largely fixed. Older player reports describe losing unfinished progress when leaving a level, so completing a board before quitting is sensible. The February 2021 fix addressed resets of unlocked secrets; it did not announce mid-level saving. Steam Cloud is advertised, but that is separate from how the game saves progress within a board.

What does the Steam version cost, and which platforms are listed?

At the October 7, 2026 US Steam check, the base's regular price was $8.99 and its discounted price was $6.29. Windows, macOS and Linux are advertised, though the old minimum-OS listings do not establish compatibility with modern devices. A separate Steam demo is listed. The Digital Art Collection was $5.99 regularly and $4.19 on sale at that check. Android demos on itch and Nintendo Switch editions are separate versions outside this assessment.
