Jake Miller is a thirty-something physics professor, a divorced father and a man trying to get his life moving again. Street racing offers money and danger; romance offers affection, temptation and fresh trouble. Remaining desirable after a messy breakup is the fantasy here. His past gives intimacy some friction, especially when the person getting close remembers his old mistakes.
His daughter's medical crisis adds weight to possible reconciliation, but the script does not always manage the return from family distress to flirting. Those sudden shifts can leave the romance feeling ill-timed. Act 1 covers Episodes 1–3, with sexual payoffs and relationship decisions worth revisiting. Jake's larger story continues beyond this package.
Women with something at stake

Allison, Jake's ex-wife, gives the romance its strongest emotional footing. Hurt and attachment have survived the divorce, so getting close again means risking the same mistakes. Veronica, his current girlfriend and fellow professor, offers warmth and stability, with jealousy that can turn affection into pressure. Her devotion is part of the appeal and part of the problem when you want Jake to pursue somebody else.
Jasmine's confidence and involvement in Jake's research make her a lively foil. The professor–university student attraction also comes with an obvious professional boundary. Maggie's quieter connection as a neighbor supplies another mood. The women have distinct figures and temperaments, and they remain recognizable personalities when the clothes come off. Recurring meetings, arguments and favors give desire a history and make choosing between them uncomfortable.
Good sex, a long wait

Act 1's sex scenes are one of its strongest assets. Multiple angles, changes of pace, lighting and staging make the animated encounters feel developed. Veronica's scenes benefit from the tension between her reserved personality and private desires. Anticipation gives attraction time to grow, and the eventual sex usually comes with some knowledge of the person involved. The style favors accessible heterosexual wish fulfillment, with less emphasis on extreme fetishes.
The script can stretch that buildup past the point of excitement. Technical exchanges, inner monologues and repeated conversations smother promising setups. Jasmine's slower progression is especially vulnerable: an early interest in her can mean spending much of the act on other business before the attraction develops sexually. If Veronica does little for you, her early prominence makes the imbalance harder to ignore. Some of the heat is gone before the animation gets its chance.
Choices worth saving for

Deciding how Jake treats Allison, whether he stays with Veronica and which flirtations he encourages gives the adult story direction. Some choices affect trust and access to optional encounters, so chasing every scene involves revisiting decisions. The phone adds messages, character information and pictures to the everyday side of these relationships. It keeps attraction alive between meetings and gives the women a presence beyond their next sex scene.
Long stretches of reading separate the decisions, and another route can mean another trip through familiar exposition. The replay gallery and favorites are welcome once material is unlocked, but reaching those scenes still takes patience. The paid walkthrough explains routes and points in a separate PDF. It helps with the consequences of your choices; consulting another document is less convenient than having guidance beside the decision itself.
Fast cars cannot fix the pacing

Races use timed decisions and gear-shift inputs, with betting as another way into the racing world. These brief challenges can wake up a story that spends much of its time talking. Jake's need for money gives the cars a purpose beyond showing off. The money system is underused, though, and neither the driving nor the economy around the romances has much depth. Expect short challenges inside a visual novel.
Cooper's crude humor and lengthy car talk can make the supposedly lighter material feel heavy too. The visuals carry more of the load: consistent character models, fluid animation and energetic racing sequences give the game a strong identity. The sex scenes have music and sound effects but no voices, so an otherwise intimate encounter can feel oddly quiet. The phone can also be awkward to navigate with a controller; a mouse is a sensible choice for managing these connections.
A first act, priced as one

At its October 2026 regular US Steam price of $13.99, Act 1 offers a worthwhile amount of romance and sex. The sexual encounters and advertised extra scenes come with the base package. The separately sold walkthrough and wallpaper collection add guidance and artwork; neither is required to access the sex. Returning for another relationship adds value, although familiar dialogue makes that extra content cost patience as well as time.
Act 2 is a separate upcoming game. Its promised sexual voice work does not change Act 1's unvoiced encounters. Patreon builds, itch.io's Episode 4 offers and the free itch.io Episode 1 sit outside this Steam package. The first act has worthwhile payoffs, but Jake's emotional and romantic future is left open.
Verdict

Play Race of Life - Act 1 for its women, their tangled relationships and the quality of the animated sex. Jake's history gives the best encounters a charge that a lineup of strangers would lack. The script makes you work too hard for it: technical chatter, prolonged setup and familiar dialogue on repeat runs all sap desire. Unvoiced sex and awkward phone navigation are smaller irritations. Act 1 offers good value at its October 2026 price, especially if reconciliation and jealousy appeal to you. Go in prepared for long conversations and a wider story this purchase leaves unresolved.

Questions before you play
What does Steam Act 1 include, and does it finish the story?
Act 1 includes Episodes 1–3 and the advertised extra scenes. The act is complete, but Jake's wider story remains unfinished. As of October 2026, Act 2 was listed as a separate Steam game planned for 2027. It and Patreon development builds are outside this package.
Do I need an adult patch or paid DLC for the sex scenes?
The Steam listing includes animated sex and optional extra scenes in the base game and gives no external adult-patch requirement for this edition. The two listed DLCs are a walkthrough and a wallpaper collection; neither is needed to unlock the base game's sex scenes.
Is the free itch.io version the same offer as Steam Act 1?
No. In October 2026, itch.io listed Episode 1 free, Episode 4 builds from $6.99 and Episode 4 Extra builds from $13.99. Steam Act 1 contains Episodes 1–3. Do not assume matching content, extras, saves or later purchases across those offers. The website's browser demo was also still described as coming soon.
Can I change Jake's relationships and replay unlocked sex scenes?
Choices can affect trust, optional encounters and romantic paths, including reconciliation with Allison or leaving Veronica. The phone supplies messages, character bios and pictures. The replay gallery includes favorites for unlocked material. Finding another route's scenes can require revisiting decisions; one playthrough does not guarantee every encounter.
Are Act 1's sex scenes voiced, and what do the paid extras cost?
Act 1 has music and sound effects, but no voices in its sex scenes. The announced sexual voice work is for Act 2. In October 2026, regular US Steam prices were $1.99 for the optional walkthrough and $2.99 for the wallpaper collection. The walkthrough explains choices and unlocks in a separate PDF.
What platforms are listed, and how much racing is there?
Steam lists Windows, macOS and Linux. Racing uses short timed-choice and gear-shift minigames, with betting alongside them, inside a visual novel dominated by reading. There is no free-driving racing simulation. Full controller support is listed, but an August 2026 player report describes needing a mouse to use the phone.
