An abbey built for sin

Scarlet must defeat the Prime Evil beneath Sinner's Rest Abbey. Mistress Julia converts collected Sin into permanent improvements through a spanking ritual, while the rescued blacksmith and wizard supply better starting equipment when upgraded. Religious purity is the setup; enthusiastic sinning is the punchline. The game commits to both with cheerful abandon.

The abbey has personality, but its inhabitants rarely get beyond their jobs. Julia upgrades Scarlet, the vendors equip her, and Misty wants her stolen playthings back. Their exchanges provide horny comedy with little growing intimacy. Journal entries add background and absurd discoveries, though neither gives much emotional weight to the next encounter. A dungeon full of boobs can still leave its inhabitants feeling interchangeable.

Straight, lesbian and futanari encounters, monster partners and domination themes give the fantasy a broad sexual range. It also includes sexual assault: Scarlet can initiate sex with defeated enemies, and non-consensual sex is explicitly part of the game. The slapstick tone does not make those encounters consensual. With desire mostly expressed through victories, punishments and transactions, there is little here for someone seeking affectionate chemistry.

Lively pixels, familiar moves

The sex uses animated pixel art and the compact character sprites seen during play. Bright colors, bouncing bodies and smooth movement suit the absurd dungeon, but offer less detail and sensual staging than the larger dialogue portraits suggest. Those portraits are the visual tease; no separate collection of lavish, high-resolution sex illustrations follows them.

Encounters serve different purposes. Brief sex at item and buff stations interrupts exploration; timing inputs with defeated enemies earn extra Sin, and boss encounters can grant buffs for the current run. Misty's collection quests unlock longer abbey scenes with advance-and-back controls. They give you more room to watch, although another batch of fetched objects still stands between Scarlet and her reward.

New partners change the cast more often than the choreography. Familiar poses and movements recur on different sprites, while short sexual voice clips grow grating through repetition. The fantasy soundtrack wears better. Gallery replay lets you watch unlocked animations away from the timing targets and appreciate the motion, but cannot add the fresh direction or character development the scenes lack.

The work between the rewards

Combat gives the collection hunt a worthwhile backbone. Swords, daggers, spears and hammers differ in reach and speed, while spells and randomized equipment let you shape a run. An enemy's sexual reward can replenish the upgrade budget; a boss's can strengthen the build already underway. Sex belongs in the dungeon's progression, so pursuing it has a purpose beyond filling the gallery.

Survival demands patience. Limited healing means a careless hit in an early room can hurt several floors later. Sin buys lasting improvements to health, mana, damage and other abilities, while investment in the abbey's suppliers improves your starting gear. Early deaths still contribute to progress. The grind becomes harder to excuse when another small upgrade requires another trip through the same opening rooms.

Procedural layouts rearrange recognizable rooms better than they create new situations. Simple combat can find a satisfying rhythm, but awkward collision boundaries, crowded enemy attacks and a dash that overshoots useful positions disrupt it. Slow weapon swings also restrict when Scarlet can evade. Stronger equipment ends up doing considerable work to smooth over those rough edges.

Sex collection encourages its own routine. The spell that helps trigger encounters also speeds up Sin farming, making the same approach tempting when other magic might be more interesting. Useful conveniences soften the repetition: unwanted gear converts into Sin, animations can be cancelled, and the pause menu lets you end a run while keeping its Sin. Once a familiar encounter feels like an interruption, being able to move on matters.

A finished dungeon at a modest price

The September 2023 full release includes the final area and ending, along with boss sex, gallery replay and the later campaign areas. Accounts of the unfinished early-access version no longer describe the full package. Clearing normal difficulty unlocks Hard Mode for another challenge through the familiar campaign.

The October 2026 US list price was $10.99 for the Windows Steam game, with explicit sex included and no adult patch or paid unlock required. The optional $1.99 soundtrack buys music, not extra sexual content. The game lists no native macOS or Linux version; the soundtrack's broader platform labels do not extend to the game.

That modest price suits a finite roguelite with sexual rewards to collect. Once the gallery fills up, familiar fights and recycled animations offer diminishing returns. The campaign provides the stronger reason to stay, and the game benefits from having an ending.
