Ancient fox spirit Yomi wakes after centuries to find her dungeon occupied. She defeats the knight Ceri, magically binds her to service and sets about reclaiming the place. Bunny ears, horns, wings and big boobs give the inhabitants immediate appeal; capturing their owners builds the army that will take the dungeon back. Conquest runs through both the story and the party-building, giving this female-led harem fantasy a purpose beyond filling a gallery.
Yomi's amused confidence and Ceri's prickly resistance produce the best chemistry. Their bickering gives a thin ‘go deeper’ quest two characters worth following. Later lesbian attraction is presented as playful and willing, but the story quickly smooths over the magical enslavement that brought them together. The pairing has enough spark to make intimacy appealing, yet it often settles for teasing and another picture.
The harem grows faster than the romance

Steam's base game has partial nudity, torn outfits and suggestive encounters. Explicit sex requires the separate official R18 patch, whose current download access and compatibility remain unconfirmed. The adult edition adds female-only sex scenes and more exposed capture illustrations. Its encounters pair still CGs with written dialogue, limited visual changes and no voice acting. The appeal lies in illustrated lesbian fantasy; there is no erotic minigame or elaborate scene control to make the encounters feel participatory.
The roster is wider than its sexual range. A slime, a fox and a winged rival have different monster designs, but most bodies follow the same busty pin-up template. Limited expressions and image changes do little to convey desire, and sex often feels detached from the adventure. Yomi and Ceri offer the strongest emotional connection; many other encounters supply a new body without much of a new relationship.
Recruitment is the foreplay

To recruit a monster, a party member must match or exceed her level and deal the finishing blow with Capture. The prisoner then needs a conversation in town before joining. An unfamiliar monster gives a fight a purpose beyond experience points. Recruits can unlock side scenes, while deeper floors open more town events. Checking ‘Walk around town’ makes a return trip a chance for a reward. Optional encounters can also be left for later.
Most choices concern whom to collect, teach and bring into battle. Party members contribute their own remarks to dungeon conversations, giving the large cast some individuality. Recruiting a favourite does not begin a detailed courtship. Stronger later recruits can leave earlier women behind, so practical team building pushes against attachment. When a companion is useful for a few floors and then replaced, the harem starts to feel like a personnel roster.
The fights can wear out the fantasy

Normal difficulty keeps the crawl approachable, with hidden passages, treasure and new enemies giving exploration a steady rhythm. Six party slots, skill scrolls and frontline substitutions give the growing collection a practical use. Action points also govern protection: spending heavily on attacks leaves a woman easier to hit, while guarding gives her breathing room. Critical hits can tear clothes and cut health recovery, so showing skin comes with a combat penalty. Repairing outfits adds friction to repeated runs.
Hard and Abyssal can add level grinding, especially when a recruit is too strong to Capture. Extra difficulty does little to freshen familiar encounters. Low-cost attacks and auto-battle can reduce long stretches to routine, and a stronger party often matters more than clever decisions. When another corridor means another set of similar fights, a new recruit has to be worth the effort. The roster and banter usually provide more incentive than the prospect of memorable sex.
A full campaign, few reasons to return

Wanaca's expressive character art gives encounters immediate appeal, and Yomi and Ceri's cosmetic wardrobe offers more ways to enjoy the leads. The plain corridors have far less character. Zach Parrish's soundtrack helps carry the adventure through repeated fights. A complete run takes around fifteen to twenty-five hours, with extra challenges for thorough collectors. At its October 2026 US list price of $19.99, the game offers a substantial campaign, though the linear story and limited romantic choices give little incentive to start over. Steam also lists it as incompatible with macOS 10.15 or later.
Verdict
Sakura Dungeon is worth playing for the pleasure of discovering, recruiting and travelling with an army of monster women. Yomi and Ceri give the harem personality, while the RPG makes each addition something to earn. The Steam game offers plenty of teasing; the separate adult scenes have limited staging and little relationship depth. Hours of extra grinding are a poor trade for either payoff. Normal difficulty leaves more room to enjoy the cast. It is an appealing monster-girl adventure whose collecting is more seductive than its handling of sex.
