These older GPT Image models are most useful when a project already relies on one of their API IDs or when you need to compare costs before changing the image pipeline. Each variant has its own pricing and feature limits, so check the exact model and your account’s access. Keep a record of the model ID, output settings and accepted assets when assessing a replacement. The B tier reflects their value for continuity and cost comparison; OpenAI’s guide recommends GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst or Flare for new integrations. Moderation and service terms still apply.
Commercial use & license
Proprietary hosted models under OpenAI service/API terms; no downloadable weight license.
Adult content rules
Inputs and outputs are moderated under OpenAI policy; less restrictive filtering does not mean explicit sexual content is approved.
What you need
Account/API access, rights to use submitted reference images, and a reviewed export workflow.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
