Hunyuan3D 2.0 separates shape generation from painting, so you can inspect a bare mesh before committing to its texture. The paint model also accepts handcrafted meshes, giving it a useful role beyond coating its own output. The mini branch offers a smaller shape model, while multiview models accept several reference views; fast and turbo are distinct distilled variants. Pin the checkpoint and code when building a repeatable workflow, and budget for geometry checks and cleanup. Keep 2.1 material features and hardware claims separate from this release. The Tencent community license restricts territory and use, even when you run the model locally.
Commercial use & license
Tencent Hunyuan 3D 2.0 Community License. The model and its outputs cannot be used, distributed or displayed in the EU, UK or South Korea under this license. Licensees with more than 1 million monthly active users across their products and services in the month before its January 21, 2025 release need Tencent approval. AUP and distribution obligations also apply.
Adult content rules
The AUP gives no explicit adult-content permission. It requires lawful use and respect for regional ethical and moral standards, prohibits bypassing safeguards, and requires clear AI disclosure for public content. The license excludes the EU, UK and South Korea; Tencent hosted services have separate requirements.
What you need
Official 2.0 guidance lists 6 GB VRAM for shape generation and 16 GB for shape plus texture. Verify memory needs for the chosen mini, fast, turbo or multiview checkpoint and any third-party port.
