Imagen 4 Standard, Ultra and Fast appear in older Gemini API tutorials, but Google lists August 17, 2026 as their shutdown date. That date had passed by this entry’s October 2026 review, so new projects should use a current documented image model. The N tier marks these Gemini API endpoints as unavailable; it says nothing about their image quality. Existing games should keep their assets and generation records while replacements are tested separately, with the revised artwork compared before release. Vertex AI and other Google products need their own lifecycle checks.
Commercial use & license
These endpoints used proprietary Gemini API terms. Their retirement does not establish rights or availability in other Google products.
Adult content rules
Google’s referenced policy restricts sexually explicit content, including content created for pornography or sexual gratification.
What you need
The named Gemini API endpoints have passed their published shutdown date. Choose a current documented alternative for new work, and verify the lifecycle separately for any other Google deployment.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
