Meshy T2 generates triangle meshes at a requested face count, with parts separated during generation. For props, repeated scenery and objects you expect to edit, that gives you a reason to try it before generating a dense mesh and simplifying it afterward. Its useful promise is a more manageable starting asset; the cleanup work still matters. Inspect thin pieces, intersections, UVs and any areas that need to bend. Separate parts do not guarantee sensible pivots, and generated character topology still needs a deformation check and a suitable rig. Compare the result with your usual generation-and-decimation workflow before committing it to production.
Commercial use & license
Proprietary hosted model. Paid customers can keep output private and own it to the extent permitted by law, provided they have the necessary source rights. Free-plan output uses CC BY 4.0 with credit to Meshy. Publishing output on Meshy Community places it under CC0. These output licenses do not cover model weights.
Adult content rules
Meshy prohibits creating, uploading or sharing pornographic material. This recommendation covers permitted non-explicit props, environments and clothed character references.
What you need
For Image to 3D, use a Meshy API key, a supported image and model_type: smart-topology with ai_model: meshy-t2; inspect exported parts and the achieved face count.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
