CRM is a useful local reconstruction baseline for developers who want to inspect each stage, from six generated views to a textured mesh. The command-line path saves the views and coordinate maps and exports a UV-textured OBJ bundle. Its hosted demo uses vertex colors, so appearance and runtime comparisons need to use the same output path. The older CUDA/PyTorch stack adds setup work, and an adult-game character still needs topology checks, cleanup and rigging before animation. There is also a concrete production obstacle: required nvdiffrast is restricted to research and evaluation under its NVIDIA license. CRM makes more sense for studying reconstruction than for starting a commercial character pipeline with the stock dependencies.
Commercial use & license
CRM code is MIT, and its weight card is labelled MIT. Required nvdiffrast limits use outside NVIDIA and its affiliates to noncommercial research/evaluation; GET3D-derived geometry code also retains NVIDIA notices. CRM’s MIT label does not clear the stock pipeline for commercial production. Reconcile upstream checkpoint and dependency terms separately.
Adult content rules
MIT does not grant rights to reference images or likenesses. Upstream ImageDream/MVDream weight cards carry OpenRAIL labels and caution against disturbing or offensive imagery; reconcile those terms with CRM’s MIT weight label before adult use. The stock renderer is research/evaluation-only. Hosted access, billing and content terms are unverified; no blanket adult-content permission is established.
What you need
The documented setup uses Python 3.9, PyTorch 1.13.0 with CUDA 11.7, Kaolin 0.14.0, xformers and nvdiffrast. It requires an NVIDIA/CUDA environment; setup and minimum VRAM were not tested.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
