LTX-Video 0.9.8 is worth keeping when an existing animation workflow depends on it. Image, video and multiple keyframe conditioning let you build a shot around supplied visual material, while 13B and distilled 2B variants offer different compute tradeoffs. Its appeal for an established project is the chance to revisit a known setup: save the checkpoint, encoder, adapters and workflow files together, then compare an upgrade separately. This is an older video generation family; LTX 2.x audio capabilities should not be assumed. Adult-game developers also face a firm limit: Lightricks' current policy bans sexually explicit generation, including on-premises use. Local weights still carry licensing obligations.
Commercial use & license
The 0.9.8 model card links the LTXV Open Weights License 0.X, with use restrictions and separate paid commercial terms for entities earning at least $10 million annually. Retain the license supplied with your checkpoint; the repository's Apache 2.0 code license and newer LTX 2.x terms do not replace it.
Adult content rules
Lightricks' March 2026 policy prohibits sexually explicit generation across cloud and on-premises products, including requests for sex acts and sexual fantasies.
What you need
Use the legacy 0.9.8 configuration for the 13B dev, 13B distilled or 2B distilled checkpoint, with its matching text encoder and any upscaler or adapter. Memory needs vary with the variant, precision and clip size; check the chosen workflow before renting a GPU.
