Mochi 1 Preview is useful for local experiments with photorealistic motion, especially when you want to inspect the pipeline or try LoRA fine-tuning. Its production limits are substantial: the preview outputs 480p video, animated styles are a weak fit, and extreme motion can introduce warping. For an illustrated adult game, that makes it a research candidate rather than an easy source of finished character clips. Keep experiments small and judge the results against your game's art direction before committing GPU time. Commercial deployment also calls for additional safety measures; the open license does not resolve rights to your input assets.
Commercial use & license
The official release uses Apache 2.0. Input assets, derivatives and a commercial service's safety obligations still need separate review.
Adult content rules
Genmo says it took steps to limit NSFW content and calls for additional safety measures in commercial deployments. This does not establish blanket permission for adult assets.
What you need
The official repository documents roughly 60GB VRAM for single-GPU inference and recommends at least one H100. It also needs model and VAE weights plus FFmpeg. Lower-memory ComfyUI implementations have separate requirements. The preview outputs 480p video.
