Qwen-Image-2.1 is worth investigating for sprite cutouts and character revisions. Its downloadable model combines generation and editing, with a 7B visual component, native RGBA output and up to ten reference images. Local annotations offer another way to specify edits. This release uses the Qwen Research License, unlike the Apache 2.0 terms of older Qwen image models. The A tier applies to research or a separately licensed deployment. Before choosing it for a sold game, resolve commercial permission and test character identity, transparent edges and your chosen runtime across repeated revisions.
