FLUX.2 [klein] 4B is a practical option for making game art locally: its Apache 2.0 weights allow commercial use. The 9B and dev releases have different terms. Keep the distilled inference checkpoint and undistilled Base 4B separate when planning training. Before committing your sprite pipeline, test reference edits, outfit continuity and alpha-mask finishing on your own machine. Its S tier reflects local access, documented customization and the permissive 4B license for this use case. Apache 2.0 does not grant rights to reference images or remove applicable policy obligations.
Commercial use & license
4B weights use Apache 2.0. Preserve required notices and check the terms for other components and hosted services.
Adult content rules
BFL restricts unlawful content and intimate imagery of real people without consent. Hosted services add their own filters and terms.
