Tripo P2's most useful addition is quad output for artists who expect to edit the generated mesh. The preview's SDK identifier is P2-20260801, so an integration can request that version explicitly. Enabling quad forces FBX output; the downloader must read the returned file type instead of assuming GLB. That format change matters before an asset ever reaches the engine. Quads alone tell you little about how a shoulder bends or whether fingers hold their shape. Try P2 on a small set of references, inspect the edge flow around joints and faces, and measure the cleanup it needs. Its appeal is a possible head start on an editable asset, with an artist still responsible for making it fit the game.
Commercial use & license
Hosted proprietary model. Tripo's official help grants commercial output rights to paid users, but not free users; API contracts may differ. The SDK's MIT license covers the SDK, not hosted model weights.
Adult content rules
Tripo's terms prohibit obscene, offensive and unlawful inputs. Permission for adult production is unverified; this recommendation covers permitted non-explicit assets.
What you need
An account and API key with P2 access, plus an importer for the returned format. Quad output needs FBX support; inspect and prepare the mesh before exporting it for the game.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
