HunyuanVideo 1.5 gives a local team two useful starting points for video prototypes: a text prompt or a supplied character still. Official LoRA training code adds a route for adapting the model to a project. Start with an exact released checkpoint, approve a short baseline clip, then compare inference settings and adaptations on the same input. Standard, distilled and sparse routes need separate quality checks. Budget for setup and compute, and clear the intended content and release territories under the community license before rendering a batch. Keep source art and reusable game animation assets: the model produces a rendered video clip.
Commercial use & license
The community license excludes the EU, UK and South Korea, including use and distribution of outputs there. Model distribution carries notice obligations, and services must identify their provider. The AUP applies. Separate authorization is required if your products and services exceeded 100 million monthly active users in the month before the model's release.
Adult content rules
Public outputs must be identified as machine generated. The AUP prohibits bypassing safeguards and use that violates regional social ethics. These restrictions apply locally too; the terms offer no explicit adult-content permission.
What you need
Official setup: Linux, Python 3.10 or newer, an NVIDIA CUDA GPU and at least 14 GB of VRAM with model offloading. The 8.3B release has 480p and 720p checkpoints. Check the released-weight table; that reference minimum does not cover every inference configuration or LoRA training.
Ranks are recommendations for the task described, based on reviewed documentation. Model ranks cover non-explicit development work. We have not run practical benchmarks. Check content policies and commercial terms separately. How the ranks work →
